His family originates from Naxos and Amorgos. He is married and has two children.<\/p>\n

He studied Economics at the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Political Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.<\/p>\n

He holds a Master\u2019s degree from Panteion University of Athens and is fluent in English.<\/p>\n

He worked for several years in the private sector. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Economic Chamber of Greece. He later worked at the Ministry of Finance. He has been active in trade unionism and served as President of the Pan-Hellenic D.A.K.E. of Tax Officers in 2005.<\/p>\n

He began his political career as an active member of the Youth of New Democracy and was elected twice as a member of ONNED’s Executive Board.<\/p>\n

He actively served in Local Government, holding the following positions:<\/p>\n

  • Municipal Councilor of Vyronas in 1990<\/li>\n
  • Prefectural Councilor of Athens (1994\u20132007)<\/li>\n
  • President of the Expanded Prefectural Council of Athens-Piraeus in 1999<\/li>\n
  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Prefectures for two terms (1999\u20132006)<\/li>\n
  • President of the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (E.E.T.A.A.) S.A. (2004\u20132007)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    e-Kouros<\/strong> is the new digital platform initiated by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Sports. It aims to record all measurable aspects of sports in Greece. According to the Ministry\u2019s announcement, \u201cthe completion of the Digital Transformation, with the documentation of all data, which will be freely and publicly accessible, includes seven pillars:<\/p>\n

    \n\u2013 Safe Sports Facilities
    \n\u2013 Citizen Services \u2013 \u2018MyKouros App\u2019
    \n\u2013 Reduction of Administrative Burden for Clubs, Associations, and Federations
    \n\u2013 Professional Sports and Committees
    \n\u2013 Organization and Transparency in Resource Management

    Anastasia Kelesidou is one of Greece\u2019s top female discus throwers. She became the first Greek woman to surpass 60 meters in the discus throw (1994), and in 1999 she won her first major medal: a silver at the World Championships in Seville. This was followed by two consecutive silver medals at the Olympic Games (Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004), while in total she won medals in six major competitions (World and European Championships).<\/p>\n

    Her career was marked by consistency and a continuous presence at the top level, with a personal best of 67.70 meters (1999). After completing her distinguished athletic career, Tasoula Kelesidou continues to serve the sport in administrative roles and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of SEGAS and the federation\u2019s representative at the plenary of the Hellenic Olympic Committee.<\/p>\n

    The talk explores the role of women in sports, focusing on the challenges they continue to face as well as the significant achievements of recent decades. Through examples, it highlights the prospects for a more equal and inclusive sporting environment. The aim is to inspire, raise awareness, and strengthen the participation of women in sports at all levels \u2014 from amateur to professional and leadership roles.<\/p>\n
