In the context of the 32nd International Conference on Physical Education & Sports, the Men’s National Water Polo Team will be honored for its enduring great achievements. The national coach, Theodoros Vlahos and former players will participate in the opening ceremony, where significant moments and performances that have left a mark in history, contributing to a total of 15 medals in international competitions will be highlighted.
Its impressive journey includes winning the silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games, a silver medal in 2023, and bronze in 2005, 2015, and 2022 at the World Aquatics Championships. Additionally, bronze medals were secured in 2004, 2006, 2016, and 2020 at the World Water Polo League, along with a silver medal at the 1997 World Cup. In the Mediterranean Games, the national team has earned a silver medal in 2018 and bronze medals in 1951, 1991, 1993, and 2013.
